By the River Charles :)
As Swati says reprovingly to me everytime I feign tiredness after a holiday "You are such a drama queen- needing to rest after a relaxing holiday!" Or as Ma would say jokingly "Accha ghum theke uthe ektu bishshaam korchhishh!" (resting a little after waking up huh?)... Oh well, so I am recovering from a relaxing weekend with A at Boston.
I have to confess I was a bit anxious about his trip here cos it almost felt like I have to convience him that this coast is worth living in. The weather was on my side for the first few days but tuesday it betrayed me - rained all day. Thankfully had bid on price line for this fantastic rivew view room and could get some comsolation that we were enjoying rive Charles even if out of the window and not on a boat!
I like Boston - no actually I like Cambridge. It's cosily small, but not rural like Amherst. There are things to see and do apart from climbing trees! Some of my dreams - of walking by the river, eating Shorshe Ilish at a Bengali restaurant came true. Would have been even more fun if it hadn't started raining but then what the heck, can't have it all!
A says he feels "intimidated" by Boston - Cambridge. Sounds strange coming from aperson who is used to LA but then he explains it well. Boston-Camobridge seems to be full of two kinds of people - professionals in designer suits or studenst being intellectual. All the snippets of "casual" converstaion on hegemony, Chomsky (or was it nuclear physics) seems to have scared him!
Don;t have too many snaps to share - which is a bummer given thi sis supposed to be a travelogue.. I'll put in a few.
